Top Ten Tips for Writing a Good Assembly Report
1. Keep your report to under 400 words.
2. Format your report properly.
-Title
-City, State — Body of report
-Name of Scribe
-Assembly number
-Address of meeting location
-Contact information for members that wish to visit
3. Make the content interesting so people will want to visit your assembly and possibly join the S.A.M.
4. Don't use CAPITAL letters, in text this is interpreted as yelling and it takes us a lot more time to edit.
5. Don't use fancy formatting. We delete all the formatting when we get it so focus more on writing good information about your meeting.
6. Don't send us the minutes of the meeting. Stay focused on the magic and why your assembly is interesting.
7. Send us one good picture. There is no need to send us more than one. You choose your favorite, the one that represents your assembly the best and don't forget the caption!
8. Attach the photo to the email. Don't embed it in the body of the email. This reduces the quality of the picture and we may not be able to use it.
9. Write your report shortly after the meeting so you don't miss the deadline and it's fresh in your mind. The deadline is the 26th of the month. Your reports should always be sent to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
10. Try to imagine that you are writing this for a young person, new to magic, that would love to join a magic club. This will help you choose the fun and memorable points of your meeting.
